Upholstery courses for beginners to advanced
Manorhouse offers a range of practical, face-to-face upholstery courses. We don't offer online learning because we believe that to fully understand and learn the skills involved in upholstery you have to "roll your sleeves up" and "get stuck in"; and to do so under the supervision of an experienced upholstery tutor.
Modern Upholstery course
Join us from September 16th on our next Modern Upholstery course - a 1 day per week for 12 weeks upholstery course designed around a comprehensive set of skills and items to help you master modern upholstery. As well as covering core modern skills this course is an ideal route if you are planning to set up your own upholstery business. The course includes 6 upholstery projects plus all the essential knowledge needed to begin operating from your home or small workshop. For full details follow this link. This is an ideal "upholstery for beginners" course but equally suitable for someone with experience who is looking to take the next step.
This course is available from Thursday September 16th as a 1 day per week for 12 weeks format offering a flexible format for those who have work or family commitments and can't attend a 12 day block.
This provides an opportunity to spend a day in the workshop on the Modern course and to experience the style of teaching and the level of skills that are offered on the full course. Your taster day will be spent in the workshop from 9.30 to 4.00 alongside current students who will be working on various items from the main syllabus. For full details follow this link
September 25th; October 9th; October 23rd; November 13th; December 11th
The course runs on Saturdays and at £135 is a fantastic introduction to upholstery. The day is very hands-on and will lead to a completed footstool with optional shallow buttoning in 6 hours; ready to take home and use. Visit the image gallery to view some of the latest footstools from our courses in June.
We are delighted to announce the dates for the September 12 week classes. These will begin w/c 13th September and end w/c 6th December. There will be a break for half term w/c 25th October. These are not available to book online at the moment so please enquire via email email@example.com.
Based in Almondbury just outside Huddersfield our weekly schedule of morning, afternoon and evening upholstery courses and soft furnishing courses allow you to develop your skills in our bright and spacious workshop and in a friendly environment. Students learn modern and traditional upholstery techniques at all levels so there is something for everyone, from upholstery beginners, to those with more experience.
Our workshop has been adapted for Covid restrictions with 8 individual workstations and toolsets available for individual student use in class.
We are a privately owned and independent training centre. We have no connection with any other upholstery training centre and have developed our own courses to offer the essential skills and knowledge needed to practice and enjoy upholstery at all levels - for recreation or as a profession.
